2009 MASITE Committees - Student Chapters

Please contact the MASITE Student Chapter Liaison to coordinate student activities.

Penn State University:  Robert Watts

University of Delaware: Adam Weiser

Adam will work with UDITE, Professor Rusty Lee and the current student members to increase membership and also encourage additional interest in Transportation Engineering at the University.  In addition, UDITE will be taking some field trips to various transportation related locations, possibly AMTRAK in Wilmington, Delaware, DelDOT's Transportation Management Center or the Port of Wilmington.  UDITE will also be taking part in MASITE events and will possibly host another mixer with area professionals.

University of Pittsburgh:  David DiGioia

Dave will be the student chapter liaison to the University of Pittsburgh Student Chapter.  Since the chapter has been inactive, Dave’s goal this year is to develop a plan to reactivate the chapter.  He will work closely with the Pitt faculty teaching the newly created Transportation courses to find a faculty advisor for the chapter.  Dave will also look into creating a Pittsburgh chapter that includes other local universities, including Carnegie Mellon.

West Virginia University:  Scott Nale

Activities to date have consisted of trying to find a faculty member at WVU who is willing to be the Faculty Sponsor for ITE at WVU.  Scott’s goal for the upcoming calendar year is to have a fledgling chapter in place by the end of the Fall 09 semester.
